Full-Time VP, Data Platforms

Fortitude Re is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Head of Data Platforms.

In this strategic role, you will spearhead the transformation and modernization of our data ecosystem.

What You Will Do:

1. Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for modernizing data platform architecture.
2. Act as a subject matter expert in data platform modernization, leading initiatives to consolidate and streamline data operations.
3. Oversee the design and implementation of robust data platform for secure, efficient data ingestion, storage, and processing pipelines.
4. Ensure high performance, scalability, and data integrity for enterprise-wide data platforms
5. Lead efforts in optimizing system performance, implementing best-in-class data security measures, and ensuring rigorous data governance practices.
6. Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team comprising data engineers, DevOps professionals, and automation experts.
7. Cultivate a collaborative environment by integrating technical teams with domain experts to drive innovation and ensure the seamless delivery of projects.
8. Partner with the Head of Data & Analytics, Data Engineering, IT, and key business stakeholders to understand requirements, define technical strategies, and implement scalable solutions.
9. Foster strong cross-functional relationships to ensure that data platform initiatives support broader business strategies and operational needs.
10. Enforce robust data governance standards, ensuring adherence to data quality, security best practices, and regulatory requirements.
11. Collaborate with compliance and risk management teams to implement controls and reporting processes that safeguard sensitive data and maintain audit readiness.
12. Lead research and experimentation initiatives to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies.
13. Develop and manage budgets for data platform initiatives.
14. Oversee vendor relationships and technology partnerships.

What You Will Have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in data platform engineering, cloud infrastructure management, or related domains.
• Proven track record of technical leadership and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying scalable data infrastructures.
• Expertise in data architecture, including experience with distributed systems, high-performance data processing frameworks, and large-scale data integration.
• In-depth knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing solutions.
• Experience with implementation of Palantir Foundry.
• Strong background in system performance optimization, data security protocols, and modern data governance practices.
• Experience with cloud-based systems, containerization, and orchestration frameworks (highly desirable).
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and lead technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a proactive approach.
