About LineraLinera is the first blockchain optimized for real-time applications and interoperability at Internet scale. Founded by a former Meta/Novi research engineer, Linera introduces microchains—lightweight, parallel chains that enable direct user interaction. Backed by top-tier crypto investors, the protocol is currently live on testnet and actively preparing for mainnet launch. Position overviewWe’re looking for an experienced Web3 Infrastructure Engineer to help bring our next-generation blockchain into production. In this role, you’ll work closely with our core engineering team and the broader validator and node operator community. You’ll be responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of Linera’s deployments—leveraging your expertise in blockchain infrastructure, distributed systems, and modern cloud environments.
Key responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain the infrastructure supporting Linera’s blockchain network across testnet and mainnet environments
- Develop tools and automation for monitoring, alerting, and managing node deployments and network health
- Collaborate with protocol engineers to ensure smooth upgrades, network stability, and scalability
- Support validators and community node operators with documentation, troubleshooting, and onboarding
- Contribute to incident response and establish best practices for security, reliability, and performance in a decentralized infrastructure
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles, preferably with a focus on distributed systems and/or blockchain networks
- Strong proficiency with cloud providers (GCP, AWS, or similar) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
- Familiarity with Linux systems, networking, and containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Solid programming skills for automation and tooling. Familiarity with Rust appreciated
- Deep understanding of observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) and logging pipelines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote-first, open-source environment
