Job Overview

Quantum Montessori is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable World Religion Teacher to join our Upper Elementary and Adolescent programs. The ideal candidate will approach religious texts from a secular and literary perspective, emphasizing critical thinking and cultural understanding. This position requires a commitment to inclusivity and respect for diverse beliefs, providing students with a comprehensive and unbiased exploration of world religions.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Development: Create and implement a curriculum that explores world religions through a secular and literary lens.
• Instruction: Teach religious texts as cultural and historical documents, fostering critical analysis and discussion among students.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a respectful and engaging virtual classroom environment, encouraging student participation and curiosity.
• Assessment: Design and administer assessments to evaluate students’ understanding of the material and their ability to think critically about religious texts.
• Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in secular and literary approaches to teaching religious texts.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other educators and staff to integrate world religion studies with other areas of the curriculum.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies, Literature, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: Previous teaching experience in a secular and literary approach to world religions is highly desirable.
