Full-Time Actuarial Analyst

Interwell Health is a kidney care management company that partners with physicians to improve healthcare. We are seeking a passionate Actuarial Analyst to join our team.

Responsibilities:

1. Analyzing data to identify trends in medical care costs.
2. Supporting IBNR calculations.
3. Analyzing data, making informed assumptions, and communicating insights to stakeholders.
4. Maintaining data integrity throughout the reporting lifecycle.
5. Implementing reporting and reconciliation workflows.
6. Conducting experience studies and medical trend studies.
7. Running queries and providing analysis to understand drivers (e.g., medical cost, utilization).
8. Providing insightful commentary and sensitivity modeling analysis.
9. Producing reports to support financial reporting and operations.
10. Creating ad-hoc reports as needed.
11. Performing research and data collection (including data mining and reporting).
12. Referring high-level problems to senior staff for assistance.
13. Developing and testing interim solutions.
14. Managing basic process changes and evaluating/monitoring results.
15. Automating manual reporting and analysis of business implications and trends.
16. Improving data capabilities and quality of department analysis and reporting.
17. Developing revenue and medical claims expense models.
18. Evaluating and projecting risk-based contracts with health plans, ACOs, and government partners.
19. Performing in-depth claims analysis of baseline and ongoing contract monthly data.
20. Conducting profitability analysis and drill-down analysis of actual vs. expected variances.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• 2+ years of related analytics or actuarial experience
• Completion of 2-3 SOA exams towards achieving ASA designation
• Proficiency with database tools (SQL, Azure, SAS)
• Experience with project management tools (Jira)
• Proficiency with analytical tools (Databricks, Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
