Brightspeed is seeking a talented Analyst, Network Security to join our team.
This role reports directly to the Network Security Manager and involves safeguarding all networks (internal, customer-facing, and Telcom). The analyst will conduct day-to-day security analysis and operations, acting as a technical resource in network security and demonstrating a deep understanding of security architecture. Collaboration with IT and Network is key for diverse project contributions. Strong interpersonal skills are vital for inter-organizational relationships.
Responsibilities Include:
- Designing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls.
- Managing and administering Azure and GCP firewalls.
- Conducting regular reviews and audits of Palo Alto firewall configurations.
- Managing, implementing, and maintaining DDoS mitigation solutions.
- Management and support of network authentication technologies like RADIUS and TACACS+.
- Managing network protection technologies like IDS and Honeypots.
- Managing, implementing, and coordinating with lead engineers to manage and administer enterprise cybersecurity network protection programs, leveraging advanced expertise in Palo Alto firewalls.
- Conducting thorough reviews and designing meticulous firewall rules for corporate security policy adherence.
- Managing, reviewing, and executing robust network security solutions to safeguard network integrity.
- Collaborating with the SME of the Network Security team to ensure the overall security posture of Brightspeed networks (including participating in device hardening initiatives, monitoring baseline configurations, meeting compliance standards, implementing security best practices, and overseeing remediation efforts).
- Assuming ownership of all network protection applications and platforms, overseeing their management, upgrades, configurations, changes, and support.
- Collaborating closely with the SOC and incident response teams to resolve network security incidents.
- Documenting, implementing, and maintaining all network security devices to uphold robust security standards, developing and implementing appropriate strategies for information security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Engaging proactively in organizational projects as needed and offering valuable insights and specialized expertise in network security domains.
- Demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Overseeing the management of the enterprise's Network Security Systems, encompassing Firewalls (including cloud firewalls), DDOS mitigations, RADIUS, and TACACS+ authentication.
- Providing support for TACACS+ and RADIUS authentication services, ensuring efficient troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Participating in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage of network security operations.
- Staying current on emerging cybersecurity threat landscape, vulnerabilities, and trends, recommending proactive measures to enhance security posture.
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment by actively sharing knowledge, supporting team members, and participating in mentorship and learning initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
- 2+ years' demonstrated expertise with firewall management and architecture, including Palo Alto firewalls.
- 2+ years' hands-on experience in Network Security across various domains.
- Proficiency in network security hardening methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with TACACS+ and RADIUS authentication protocols.
- Proficiency in configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting DDoS mitigation solutions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and adherence to policies.
- Proven expertise in implementing security measures in GCP and Azure environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of TCP/IP protocols, routing, and switching.
- Moderate understanding of BGP, OSPF, switching topologies, and cloud networking.
- Familiarity with zero-trust architectures is advantageous.
- Knowledge of incident response procedures is advantageous.
- Scripting experience is beneficial.
