Full-Time Assistant General Counsel, Privacy & Cybersecurity

We are looking for an Assistant General Counsel, Privacy & Cybersecurity to join our growing team! You will work with the Chief Privacy Officer to manage and maintain a best-in-class privacy program.

Responsibilities include:

• Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and related matters.
• Advise on complex legal issues related to AI and emerging technologies.
• Provide sound legal advice on privacy laws.
• Monitor legal developments and proactively mitigate privacy risks.
• Communicate clearly to lawyers and non-lawyers about legal changes.
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Help define and prioritize strategic projects.
• Oversee incident response strategy.
• Advise on breach determination and notification.
• Lead responses to external data access requests.
• Interpret privacy and data protection laws.
• Negotiate data privacy agreements.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training.

Requirements:

• Law degree from an accredited law school.
• Active state bar license.
• Extensive experience assessing and mitigating legal risks.
• In-depth knowledge of US federal and state privacy laws.

Bonus points for:

• Privacy and cybersecurity certifications.
• Experience with digital marketing, consumer protection laws, and telecommunications regulations.
