Equalpride, the parent company of leading LGBTQ+ brands such as The Advocate, Out, and PRIDE.com, is seeking a results-driven Audience Director to lead our audience growth strategies.
This pivotal role focuses on expanding reach, enhancing engagement, and identifying monetizable opportunities across platforms.
As a player-coach, you will combine strategic leadership with hands-on work, directly contributing to social media and video efforts while mentoring your team to drive measurable growth.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute audience growth strategies across search, social media, push alerts, email newsletters, syndication partnerships, and news aggregators.
- Hands-On Contribution: Actively manage and optimize social media accounts, creating and scheduling posts, engaging with audiences, and analyzing performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Video Collaboration: Work directly with the video team to develop and implement effective strategies for social video, ensuring content is optimized for engagement and platform-specific best practices.
- Team Management: Oversee and provide day-to-day feedback and support to the social media managers, while fostering their professional growth and encouraging innovative approaches.
- Data-Driven Insights: Partner with the SVP of Editorial and COO to analyze audience data and identify areas of opportunity both on and off-platform.
- Collaboration: Work closely with social media managers and site directors to implement strategies that grow and diversify our audience base.
- Monetization Focus: Expand monetizable opportunities to revenue-driving initiatives on social platforms, emails and other direct-to-audience platforms.
- Platform Growth: Prioritize growth on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook to leverage better monetization opportunities.
- Innovation and Optimization: Continuously analyze and refine tactics to maximize audience reach, with broad latitude to implement new ideas and approaches.
About You:
- Digital marketing or social media expert, preferably with experience in the media/publishing space, with a passion for understanding and optimizing audience behavior.
- Experienced in audience development, with a proven track record of growing traffic and engagement across digital platforms.
- Hands-on experience managing social media accounts and collaborating on video content creation.
- Knowledgeable about social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms.
- A collaborative leader with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Data-savvy, with the ability to translate analytics into actionable strategies.
- Comfortable managing multiple accounts and brands, and capable of stepping back from daily workflows to analyze performance and try new approaches.
- Meta, YouTube and other certifications relevant to this role are encouraged.
