As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you are the front line for our sales efforts, driving revenue growth by identifying, engaging, and nurturing high-value prospects in a B2B environment.
You will focus on developing relationships with key decision-makers, including C-level executives and VPs, leveraging a consultative approach to create business opportunities.
Work Location: This role is remote for candidates based in the US and UK only.
Work Arrangement: Remote

Specific requirements:
- Proven experience in B2B Business Development, Sales, or Account Management, engaging with C-level and VP-level decision-makers.
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a high-performance environment.
- Experience in Lead Generation, Prospect Sourcing, Inside Sales, or similar function is preferred.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and LinkedIn for prospecting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generates new interested and qualified sales leads through networking, targeted campaigns, social media, cold calling, and various other forms of outreach.
- Educates and nurtures sales leads to ultimately schedule prospect meetings for our sales team.
- Outbound Prospecting:
- Develop and execute outbound strategies to generate new business opportunities, leveraging LinkedIn, industry networks, and personalized outreach.
- Prospect against a named target list or industry/geographic segments as assigned.
- Identify and engage contacts that fit Cielo’s Personas within our Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP).
- Monitor buying sign behaviors using sales and marketing tools to prioritize and tailor outreach strategies.
- Leverage data-driven insights, sales intelligence tools, and competitive analysis to prioritize outreach.
- Work with sales partners to identify the best approach for the initial meeting with new prospects.
- Schedule meetings with newly identified contacts for sales partners.
- Design and update email flows using Groove.
- Inbound Inquiries:
- Manage inbound inquiries, distribute to sales partners based on Cielo ICP & Personas.
- Disposition of inbound leads not mapped to an ICP.
- Knowledge Gathering:
- Update industry Market Maps and use sales data to identify potential prospects.
- Capture and report out on competitive intelligence or market trends.
- Take feedback from sales partners and use it to refine the targeting process.
- Data Management:
- Update Salesforce (create accounts and contacts, update details on existing records).
- Work with Salesforce support team to identify gaps in the database.
- Marketing Events:
- Provide pre and post-event support in coordination with marketing.
- Assist with sending invitations through outreach channels.
- Attend exhibitions and trade shows as requested.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to strategically build and expand relationships within prospective client organizations, engaging decision-makers and driving business growth.
- Excel in negotiation, value-based selling, and relationship management at the executive level.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to deliver a presentation and answer questions in a prospect-facing environment.
- Strength in coaching and mentorship to support peers.
- Highly motivated, results-driven self-starter.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly targets, consistently identifying opportunities to improve individual performance.
- Work in a collaborative sales environment, handing off relationships and opportunities to sales partners.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in B2B Business Development, Sales, or Account Management, with a focus on selling to enterprise or mid-market clients.
- Experience in Lead Generation, Prospect Sourcing, Inside Sales, or similar function is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to exceed KPIs related to pipeline development, meetings booked, and revenue impact.
Exposure:
- Ideally has experience in Talent Acquisition, RPO, Recruitment, or equivalent industry, but not required to be successful in this role.
Previous experience with sales tools including CRM, research, databases, and workflow automation is preferred.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College or University degree preferred but not required.
