The Solutions Engineer is responsible for partner and customer technical engagement requiring comprehensive technical knowledge, detailed solutions planning so that downline managed service engineers and others can implement our solutions per customer requirements/caveats, and other tasks which ultimately are focused on accelerating revenue and delivering solutions via documentation so that other internal teams can deliver on.
Additionally SE will assist our channel & account focused sales teams to drive revenue by helping to qualify accounts, answering RFP/RFI, preparing and delivering solution-based product presentations, producing customer network/solution diagrams (Visio, Scapple), demonstrating AireSpring products and services (online portal demos, orchestrators, etc), supporting trials that meet customer business requirements, training and mentoring staff and partners on technical material and products (internal/external webinar, powerpoint, live and other trainings), ensuring that all customer Sales Engineer solutions meet or exceed customer requirements while complying with all AireSpring technical, product, and financial requirements, assisting product and development teams in generating or modifying AireSpring products, and working with Marketing to complete white papers, collateral, and external training material.
As a member of the Sales Engineering team, you will also be responsible for handling technical questions or issues that arise during a sales cycle while setting the appropriate customer expectation.
As Solutions Engineer, you may travel to partner, customer, and trade show locations and events to complete presentations, participate in meetings, and to support Sales, Product, and/or Business Development activity.
Technical Requirements
In-depth experience and knowledge on the following (comparable experience is OK i.e. SD-WAN, Firewalls, Voice/IP services, etc. not vendor-specific although what we use is given as guidance):
- SD-WAN
- Firewalls
- Cisco, Adtran and Juniper CPE
- Fiber and Copper Ethernet, LTE, Satellite
- TCP/IP routing and switching (IP, HSRP/VRRP/GLBP, OSPF, BGP)
- SIP trunking
- UCaaS Hosted PBX platforms and VoIP phones
- Cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP, others) w/focus on connectivity
- Hosted agent and contact center applications
- Legacy PSTN, DID, ANALOG, FAX technologies
- IPsec VPN
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a similar role
- Strong leadership and knowledge transfer skills
- Effective communication with team members for collaboration and problem resolution
- Good teamwork skills
- Strong verbal, written, and display skills for customer interaction
- Ability to communicate concepts in both technical and layman’s terms
- Deep relationships and credibility with key Technology Solutions Distributors (TSDs)
