Contractor Business Intelligence Engineer

We’re looking for a well-rounded Business Intelligence Engineer (Power BI) to support one of our life sciences clients. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, analytics, and delivery - ideal for someone who can own the full data workflow from source to visualization.

You’ll be based in the US (ideally EST), and work closely with both US and EU-based teams, collaborating on the foundational build of a reporting and analytics environment. The client environment is still maturing, so your ability to shape structure, define logic, and deliver value will be key.

• Design and implement star schema models and semantic layers that power consistent and scalable reporting
• Perform source-to-target data mapping, including building data lineage documentation
• Define and document key business KPIs and metrics
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to align on data definitions and reporting needs
• Develop Power BI dashboards and outputs based on the underlying data models

This role combines aspects of being an Analyst, Engineer, and Architect as you build an end-to-end business intelligence solution.

• Experience across the full data workflow: from source analysis and modeling through to dashboard development in Power BI
• Expertise in data architecture concepts, including dimensional modeling, data lineage, and semantic models
• Strong experience with Power BI, including DAX and building user-friendly dashboards
• Excellent fundamentals, where you are capable of writing complex SQL queries through to big picture thinking
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment with cross-functional global teams
