Full-Time Catastrophe Modeling Analyst

Primary Purpose: Works within the Modelling Team to model D&F Risk, execute ad hoc projects, understand and use in-house tools, and report global exposures. Facilitate technical pricing and loss estimations.

Main Tasks:

• Data management
• Analyzing new account effects on risk concentrations
• Running account contribution and pricing reports
• Providing output to underwriters
• Handling queries

Specific Responsibilities:

• Process and analyze natural catastrophe risk information, and conduct risk analysis of submissions, including data quality analysis
• Work closely with underwriters to provide findings from output
• Add value to the underwriting process by providing insights into modelled output and result reliability
• Ensure complete information is maintained in the internal system
• Support the design and testing of new tools
• Assist in shaping analytical capabilities (hardware and software, in-house software and model development)
• Use SQL queries to retrieve and update modelling information
• Other duties as required

Essential Skills & Requirements:

• A Level education
• Microsoft Excel knowledge; Access, SQL, and VBA advantageous
• Interest in the insurance market or exposure management
• Excellent analytical, attention-to-detail, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team-orientated environment
• Ability to build effective relationships and meet tight deadlines
• BS in Geo Science, Meteorological Engineering, or related discipline
