Full-Time Catastrophe Modeling Analyst

Purpose: Work within the Modelling Team to model D&F Risk, execute ad hoc projects, understand and use in-house tools, and report global exposures to underwriters. Facilitate technical pricing and loss estimation.

Main Tasks: Data management, analyzing the effect of new accounts on risk concentrations, running account contribution analyses and pricing reports, providing output to underwriters and handling queries.

1. Process and analyze natural catastrophe risk information, carry out risk analysis of submissions, including data quality analysis.
2. Work closely with underwriters to provide findings from output.
3. Add value to the underwriting process by providing insights into modelled output and result reliability.
4. Maintain complete information in the internal system, support new tool design and testing.
5. Assist in shaping analytical capabilities (hardware and software), using in-house software and model development.
6. Use SQL queries to retrieve and update modelling information.
7. Perform any other required duties.

Essential Skills & Requirements:

• A Level education.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Access, SQL, and VBA is an advantage).
• Interest in the insurance market or exposure management.
• Excellent analytical, attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a team-orientated environment.
• Ability to build effective relationships and meet tight deadlines.
• BS in Geo Science, Meteorological Engineering, or related discipline.
