Chief Technology Officer (The Idol)

The Idol CTO is a strategic leader responsible for technology development, deployment, change management, infrastructure, security, and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Set the 5-year technology strategy and roadmap, aligning with company goals. Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to drive strategic direction.
2. Lead high-quality delivery teams (Engineering, Architecture, Platform, Compliance, Quality Assurance, etc.) to maximize value and customer experience.
3. Ensure high-quality end-to-end development aligned with product/business requirements and external partners.
4. Own IT governance and risk management, adhering to security best practices and regulations (GDPR, ISO27001, PCI).
5. Maintain resilient, scalable, and secure IT systems aligned with company growth.
6. Enhance IT effectiveness with external partners and within L&G to build a strong technology reputation.
7. Foster digital innovation and best practices to support the strategic roadmap.
8. Consider the needs of all customers, including vulnerable customers.

Regulatory Responsibilities (as registered with FCA):

• Information Technology: Cybersecurity, operational integrity, security, resilience of IT control environment, and oversight of IT suppliers.
• Outsourcing: Operational functions and regulatory obligations outsourced to third parties.
• Technology Usage: Responsibility for all technology supporting financial services.
• Change Management: Oversight and management of transition processes, tools, and techniques.
• Business Continuity: Planning and implementation of IT business continuity plans.

Required Experience:

• Proven track record leading profitable technology development and innovation, ideally in insurance or banking.
• Experience leading multiple technology teams (platform, security, delivery).
• Experience within governance and risk frameworks, and control/standard alignment.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders (Board, Customers, Employees, Partners, Suppliers).
• Effective communication of complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
