This role is responsible for building and optimizing scalable storage architectures that ensure performance, cost-efficiency, availability, and security.
Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining storage solutions across object storage (S3), file systems (EFS, FSx for NetApp ONTAP), and high-performance computing environments, as well as leveraging NetApp features such as SnapMirror, SnapClone, and BlueXP (formerly CloudInsight) for advanced data management.
The engineer will develop and execute data replication and migration strategies, implement robust data protection for business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR), and apply Infrastructure as Code and automation to streamline storage operations. This position ensures compliance with regulatory requirements while delivering resilient, efficient, and secure data storage systems to support the organization’s evolving needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Design and implement scalable cloud storage architectures using AWS S3, EFS, and FSx services.
- Optimize storage performance, cost, and accessibility across different storage tiers and classes.

- Automate storage provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and application teams on storage requirements.
- Establish storage governance policies and best practices across the organization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related performance, availability, and connectivity issues.
- 4-7 years of experience with AWS storage services including S3, EFS, and FSx (FSx for NetApp ONTAP preferred).
- Hands-on expertise with NetApp technologies including SnapMirror, SnapClone, and BlueXP (formerly CloudInsight).
- Proven knowledge of data replication, migration patterns, and data protection strategies for BCDR.
- Ability to design and implement scalable storage architectures across multiple platforms and environments.
- Skilled in optimizing storage performance, cost, and accessibility across storage tiers and classes.
- Proficiency in implementing storage security policies including encryption, access controls, and compliance measures.
- Strong ability to monitor and analyze storage performance, capacity utilization, and cost optimization opportunities.
- Experience integrating storage solutions with compute services, databases, and enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience automating storage provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams on storage requirements.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving storage-related performance and connectivity issues.
