About the Role: The Cloud Systems Specialist (AWS) manages, secures, optimizes, and audits our cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS and GitHub). You'll ensure robust access controls, maintain compliance through audits, and optimize cloud costs.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Manage AWS infrastructure for high availability, security, and scalability.
- GitHub Administration: Administer GitHub repositories, including access management and workflow automation.
- Security Implementation: Implement and monitor MFA/2FA and other security best practices.
- Compliance & Auditing: Conduct regular audits of cloud workloads, access controls, and code repositories.
- Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps): Monitor and optimize cloud spending using FinOps principles.
- Automation & Monitoring: Automate tasks and monitor systems with IaC tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Incident Response: Respond to and remediate security incidents in the cloud.
- Cross-team Collaboration: Work with DevOps, security, and IT teams.
- Documentation & Knowledge Management: Document processes, configurations, and audit findings.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of AWS experience (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudTrail, AWS Config)
- Strong cloud security background and experience implementing MFA/2FA
- AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Security - Specialty, or SysOps Administrator preferred)
- GitHub administration experience
- Proficiency with IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation scripting (Python, Bash), and monitoring tools
- Understanding of cloud cost optimization and FinOps principles
- Knowledge of security frameworks, audit procedures, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication skills
Bonus Points: IoT/Edge device management, startup/high-growth experience, experience with other cloud providers (Azure, GCP), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), or AI/ML infrastructure knowledge.
