Full-Time Cloud Test Automation Engineer

Halcyon is looking for an experienced test automation engineer to contribute to test automation, chaos engineering, and quality focus for our cloud platform (APIs, UI, and cloud-based backend components). This role will work with development and the chaos engineering team to ensure high-quality code for a ransomware protection product.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and contribute to cloud API automation framework development.
• Document and develop automated tests.
• Create clear, concise bug reports.
• Design, implement, and contribute to cloud performance testing tools.
• Design, document, and develop testing tools.
• Setup and manage testing environments.
• Manage and tune security scanning tools.
• Contribute to and follow Coding Style guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Python development ability
• Knowledge of AWS services and cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, VMWare).
• Understanding of Microservice concepts, web API endpoints (authentication, use, load testing).
• Familiarity with protocols (JSON, Protobuf, gRPC).
• Excellent verbal and written communication (documentation).
• Ability to work autonomously and cohesively in a team.
• Handle the pace and workload of a start-up environment.

Bonus Skills:

• PyTest framework (parameterization, fixtures, decorators)
• Knowledge of additional languages (Scala, JScript)
• Linux application automated test development experience
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions
• Web application development security best practices
• AWS infrastructure security and best practices
• Docker/Kubernetes security and best practices
• Experience with SAST/DAST/SCA/IaC security scanners
