The Commercial Analyst is a critical resource for the global commercial team within LGC Diagnostics and Genomics (D&G) business unit.
This role provides timely and detailed analysis of sales and marketing data to support global sales and finance teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting global sales activities and initiatives.
- Assisting the global finance team.
- Organizing, validating, and preparing accurate data for presentations, dashboards, and analyses (sales territory, customer type, customer, product, and install base).
- Delivering monthly and quarterly reports.
- Recommending and establishing new leading indicators for business unit health.
- Conducting detailed analysis of sales performance and metrics.
- Ensuring master data integrity.
- Understanding key business measures.
- Financial reporting and data aggregation from various systems.
- Analyzing and reporting key business metrics and trends.
- Supporting commercial management.
- Contributing to business development activities.
- Cross-functional collaboration and compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Complying with company quality management system policies.
- Supporting commercial leadership in data analysis and reporting.
- Mentoring and supporting other commercial analysts.
- Reviewing and reporting on commercial performance across regions, territories, and accounts.
- Content generation for monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Maintaining master alignment of accounts and sales territories, updating ERP and Salesforce.com data.
- Analysis for commercial budgeting and forecasting.
- Assisting Commercial Directors with data analysis and opportunity identification.
- Supporting finance teams with commercial data reporting and analysis.
- Proposing and implementing improvements to sales and marketing reporting.
- Recommending data requirement standards.
- Working with management and colleagues to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Price elasticity modelling, proposal pricing analysis, pro forma projections.
- Performing ad hoc analysis.
- Developing methods for assessing large amounts of data.
- Studying past sales data to determine trends and sharing with sales leadership.
- Creating sales evaluation reports.
- Managing daily product tracking reports (demand, revenue, testing, launch).
- Producing KPI updates for product launch and performance.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in financial and sales data analysis.
- 5+ years of experience in reporting and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, Salesforce).
- Leadership experience desired.
- Expert Excel skills.
- Experience in data mining, manipulation, and analysis.
- Industry experience (life sciences, biotech) or global organization experience preferred.
- Managing complex projects.
- Results-oriented, meeting targets on time and budget.
- Strategic financial and business planning experience.
