Job Details

We’re looking for a startup-obsessed Community Manager to lead and engage with communities that matter to our founder and builder audiences, starting with Reddit and our own Mercury-owned spaces.

You’ll be on the front line of authentic interaction in founder circles and other entrepreneurial communities, representing Mercury where the conversations are already happening and helping us deepen connection and sentiment across multiple platforms.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who deeply understands the founder experience and who knows how to build trust and drive authentic conversation without sounding like a brand bot.

What You’ll Do

  1. Lead engagement on Reddit and other external community platforms (e.g. Facebook groups, IndieHackers, etc.)
  2. Monitor high-signal threads and actively participate in a way that’s native to the platform
  3. Surface opportunities for organic engagement, sentiment shaping, and content inspiration
  4. Build trust in Mercury’s voice by being present, helpful, and founder-first
  5. Manage and grow Mercury’s owned Slack communities
  6. Run our existing founder Slack
  7. Potentially spin up and lead a new community tailored to a different founder segment
  8. Create a strong feedback loop between community conversations and internal teams (marketing, product, support)
  9. Be the connective tissue across paid and organic efforts
  10. Collaborate with the Growth Marketing team to ensure continuity between our paid Reddit strategy and our organic presence
  11. Share learnings and community insights regularly with the broader Marketing and Product teams
  12. Partner with our social team to be our “eyes and ears” across more spaces on the internet
  13. Own social listening on forums to monitor conversations around business banking, startups, and Mercury, and partner with our social team to listen across other channels
  14. Identify opportunities to jump into conversations early, correct misinformation, or highlight wins
  15. Collaborate on brainstorming opportunities for founder-focused content and initiatives
