Computer and Information Systems Manager (SME) - 100% Remote Role
Salary Range: Up to $161,100 yearly.
Overview: We seek a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive the IRS Applications Development Organization's technological advancements. This role is crucial in envisioning and implementing a future-aligned technology strategy. The successful candidate will navigate complex IT landscapes and spearhead innovative solution integrations, enhancing operational efficiency, security, and compliance. Strategic technology planning is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies for innovation and efficiency.
- Lead assessments and overhauls of existing IT infrastructure, ensuring performance, scalability, and future readiness.
- Develop and execute comprehensive IT strategies aligned with organizational goals and compliance.
- Cultivate partnerships with stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors.
- Guide IT best practice adoption (Agile, DevOps).
- Design and implement robust cybersecurity measures and data protection.
- Monitor technology trends and advancements (cloud computing, AI, etc.).
- Improve IT service delivery, ensuring efficiency and user-centricity.
- Lead educational initiatives for team skill enhancement.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of proven IT management experience with successful complex project implementation.
- Strong technical proficiency in modern technologies (cloud, cybersecurity, data analytics, machine learning).
- Exceptional leadership and cross-functional team management skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of IT regulatory compliance (FISMA, NIST, GDPR).
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, AWS).
Clearance:
- US Citizenship required
- Active Public Trust/MBI clearance or ability to obtain one.
