Full-Time Consultant/Senior Consultant - Market Intelligence - ERCOT

Customized Energy Solutions (CES) is a fast-growing energy services and consulting company.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Attend and participate in ERCOT stakeholder meetings.
• Write succinct reports (within days of meetings) on presentations, announcements, discussions, and developments for internal and external clients, including analysis where appropriate.
• Potentially cover Public Utility Commission of Texas and other proceedings.
• Analyze and evaluate emerging market design proposals.
• Participate in market analysis projects focused on market design and deregulated energy markets.

Market IQ Service:

• Tailor reporting and analysis based on clients' commercial interests (generation, transmission, load, trading). Consider financial, policy, legal, and technical perspectives.
• Independently identify and define issues relevant to clients' commercial interests.
• Recommend appropriate courses of action.
• Provide timely reports on developments with significant commercial impact.
• Maintain close client relationships through timely responses to questions and regular conference calls (monthly, quarterly).

Consulting and Market Design Services:

• Support clients through reports and analysis.
• Assist with consulting projects related to ERCOT and other regions' market designs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of energy industry experience.
• Relevant college degree; graduate degree or advanced industry training preferred.
• Wholesale energy market knowledge/experience (resource and transmission planning, generation interconnection, resource adequacy, market design).
• ISO/RTO knowledge/experience, with preference for ERCOT.
• Strong writing skills.
• Experience writing under tight deadlines preferred.
• Strong analytical/quantitative skills.
• Strong verbal and presentation skills preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Business development orientation preferred.

Travel:

• Attendance at ERCOT stakeholder meetings and other regional market meetings/workshops.
• Travel to industry conferences, client meetings, and CES headquarters in Philadelphia.
