About the Role: The Corporate Finance Director is a critical leadership role driving Degas' financial strategy. This involves leading equity and debt fundraising, domestically and internationally, including pitching, financial modeling, due diligence, term negotiations, and closing. This role also manages finance operations, including budgeting, monitoring, cash flow, and financial activities for both HQ and the Ghana subsidiary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead equity and debt fundraising, including pitching, financial modeling, due diligence, term negotiations, and closing (domestic and international).
- Lead grant program applications and management, ensuring compliance.
- Collaborate with leadership on long-term strategies aligning with financial goals.
- Prepare and present financial models, investor materials, and strategic reports.
- Strengthen investor relationships, providing updates on performance and growth.
- Manage financial and accounting operations, ensuring compliance.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies.
- Develop business and financial strategies aligned with long-term goals.
- Oversee budget planning, monitoring, analysis, and cash flow management for financial stability.
- Assess global entity structuring options and oversee related legal activities.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in senior finance and investment roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree (MBA) or certifications (CFA, CPA) are a plus.
- Proven track record in senior finance and investment roles, including raising millions in equity/debt funding.
- Experience in investing, particularly in tech and nature-based solutions in emerging markets.
- Strong experience in developing business financial strategies for growth and efficiency.
- Strong leadership skills to build a high-performing Finance team.
- Deep understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Deep commitment to smallholder farmer empowerment.
- Native English proficiency.
Location: Remote, with travel to investor offices, HQ in Tokyo, regional offices, and partner sites.
