We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a Fully Remote Cost Accountant. The role involves a range of responsibilities within our clients' team, including analyzing and reporting on cost accounting data, monitoring inventory levels, and collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting processes.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing standard prices to actual production costs.
• Ensure accurate classification of expenses in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Examine production costs to determine the most efficient methods of production.
• Monitor the accumulation of all direct labor, overhead, and other manufacturing-related expenses.
• Participate in physical inventory counts to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
• Research material costs to ensure the accuracy of the information in the company’s accounting system.
• Prepare standard cost reports and track variances.
• Conduct regular audits, interpret rules related to accounting practices, and ensure compliance with standard regulations.
• Develop strategies to reduce costs and study product pricing to ensure the best possible return on investment for the company.
• Prepare budgeting reports by collecting information and data points from various departments within the organization.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is a must.
• Familiarity with Crystal Reports is necessary.
• Prior experience with Epicor is desirable.
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is needed.
• Ability to handle Accounting Functions effectively.
• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) is essential.
• Auditing skills are required.
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is necessary.
• Ability to handle Cash Activity efficiently is required.
