Full-Time Cybersecurity Engineer 1

Cyber Security Engineer I plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of clients' networks and information assets. This position requires a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and technical proficiency in the engineering department.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential security weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications.
2. Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
3. Assist in the design, implementation, and configuration of security controls (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, encryption tools, and access controls).
4. Ensure that security measures are effectively integrated into the architecture and operation of IT systems.
5. Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate security breaches, malware infections, and other cyber incidents.
6. Conduct digital forensics analysis to determine the root cause of incidents and recommend remediation measures.
7. Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures based on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
8. Ensure compliance with applicable security frameworks (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
9. Provide cybersecurity awareness training to employees and end-users.
10. Create educational materials and resources to support ongoing security awareness initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Relevant industry certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GIAC).
• 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity roles.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies (SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, network security appliances).
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and cloud computing environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• US Citizenship
• Security Clearance (Convergint Federal will sponsor).

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
