Cyber Security Engineer I plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of clients' networks and information assets. This position requires a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and technical proficiency in the engineering department.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential security weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications.
- Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Assist in the design, implementation, and configuration of security controls (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, encryption tools, and access controls).
- Ensure that security measures are effectively integrated into the architecture and operation of IT systems.
- Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate security breaches, malware infections, and other cyber incidents.
- Conduct digital forensics analysis to determine the root cause of incidents and recommend remediation measures.
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures based on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable security frameworks (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
- Provide cybersecurity awareness training to employees and end-users.
- Create educational materials and resources to support ongoing security awareness initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GIAC).
- 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity roles.
- Proficiency in security tools and technologies (SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, network security appliances).
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and cloud computing environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- US Citizenship
- Security Clearance (Convergint Federal will sponsor).

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
