About the role:We are seeking to hire a Data Analyst who shall help create and define the vision for product-wide analysis and interpretation of data to discover compelling and actionable business insights. They will create efficient and effective queries that provide timely and accurate reports resulting in maximising databases with a view to current and future scaling. In addition, they will collaborate with cross-discipline teams from marketing, design, production, engineering and our creative director, delivering insightful, recommendations that result in effective business action plans, guided by senior leadership.
What you’ll be doing:
- Data Pipeline Development:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and store data from various sources.
- Ensure pipelines are optimised for performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Data Integration:
- Integrate diverse data sources (e.g., APIs, databases, streaming platforms) into unified data systems.
- Implement data transformation and cleansing processes.
- Data Infrastructure Management:
- Set up and manage databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Optimise storage solutions for scalability and efficiency.
- Performance and Quality Assurance:
- Monitor and improve the reliability, efficiency, and quality of data systems.
- Implement data validation and error-handling processes to ensure data accuracy.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to understand data requirements.
- Provide support for data-related issues and troubleshooting.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure data systems comply with relevant data privacy and security regulations.
- Implement access controls and encryption to protect sensitive data.
About you:
- 5+ years’ experience as a Data Analyst/Data Scientist, or Business/Product Analyst within the games industry
- Experience supporting a live service game, from development planning to delivery of content and features post-launch
- At least 1 shipped AAA game on console, or PC.
- Professional experience with Elasticsearch scripted queries
- Professional experience with Azure Analytics/Data and queries
- Experience with Hadoop and modern descendants.
- Professionally skilled in SQL and traditional structured databases
- Proficiency in Python or similar scripting tools to aggregate, normalize and filter large datasets
- A/B Testing: experience in conducting controlled experiments to test the effectiveness of different marketing strategies or content and optimize them.
- Ability to collect, interpret, and analyse data to gain insights into consumer behaviour, trends, and campaign performance.
- Comfortable with and confident in traversing unexplored game design territory, helping refine ideas into shippable features
Nice to have: Experience with first, or third-person shooters is desirable
