Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in building and operationalizing the minimally inclusive data necessary for the enterprise data management, analytics and business intelligence initiatives following industry standard practices and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Building, managing, and optimizing data integration pipelines.
- Moving data pipelines into production for key analytics consumers (business domain owners, business/data analysts, product owners, decision makers).
- Supporting data-informed problem-solving use cases across the enterprise.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or related field.
- Experience: At least three years of experience in BI development, data analytics, data engineering, software engineering, or a similar role.
- Expertise: Data modelling, ETL development, data architecture, master data management.
- Strong Experience: Various Data Management architectures (data warehouse, data lake, LakeHouse, Data Fabric vs Data Mesh), data Integration, MPP engines, governance, metadata management.
- Intermediate Experience: Apache technologies (Spark, Kafka, Airflow) for scalable and efficient data pipelines.
- Strong Experience: Designing, building, and deploying data solutions (capturing, exploring, transforming, utilizing data to create data products).
- Proficiency: ETL/ELT, data replication/CDC, message-oriented data movement, API design and access, stream data integration, data virtualization.
- Basic Knowledge: Data science languages/tools (R, Python, TensorFlow, Databricks, Dataiku, SAS, or others).
- Proficiency: Modern data architectures and concepts, cloud services (AWS, OCI, Azure, GCP), modern data warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks, etc).
- Strong Experience: Database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, Teradata, etc).
- Intermediate Experience: Popular data discovery, analytics, and BI software tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, Looker, ThoughtSpot, MicroStrategy, or others).
- Expert Problem-Solving Skills: Debugging unfamiliar code or systems, solving repetitive problems.
