Full-Time Data Engineer (EDI developer)

About youWe are looking for an EDI Developer with strong Python and SQL expertise, along with deep experience in 834/X12 transactions. The ideal candidate will be able to support and optimize the existing workflow, and contribute to the migration away from Orderful.

Competencies

• Desirable Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in data management, integration and manipulation.
• Solid proficiency in Python programming with knowledge of JSON data format and working with SFTP protocols
• Familiarity with EDI concepts, specifically with 834/X12 transaction sets.
• Understanding of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Google BigQuery)
• Experience with CSV/Flat file writing.
• Demonstrated ability in data integration processes and tools.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Advanced english proficiency is a requirement, since you will be working directly with US-based clients.

Responsibilities

• EDI & Data Transformation – Assist in removing Orderful from existing processes, transforming data from JSON to X12 in BigQuery, and improving overall efficiency.
• Process Optimization – Review SQL scripts and process documentation in BigQuery to ensure the best approach is being taken for file generation.
• Long-Term Support – Provide ongoing backup support and, ideally, transition into a full-time resource if the project proves successful.
