Job Details
Design and implement data strategy for current and new data services solutions.
Interface with developers, product managers, and product analysts to understand data needs.
Collaborate with architects and application development teams to understand product functionality and design direction.
Provide input to estimates of quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement business solutions.
Responsible for working as part of Application Development teams to plan, implement, and test new releases into production systems environment.
Assist and oversee the delivery of special projects and enhancements; planning, resourcing and executing with compliance with scrum methodologies.
Deliver quality software to production in a consistent and repeatable manner.
Create and maintain efficient workflows for software development and delivery.
Mentor other engineers in data engineering design and automated software delivery.
Provide mentoring/training for junior members if any.
Perform other tasks assigned by the Leader/ Manager.

Technical requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience working with SQL databases.
- Proficiency in SQL programming and database management, including expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Strong understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with database design, normalization, and performance tuning.
- Good knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
- Familiarity with scripting languages for automation and data manipulation (Python, Java, C#, R or Shell Scripting).
Nice to have:
- Understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
- Knowledge of database security best practices and data encryption.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools like Amazon Redshift or Google BigQuery.
- Experience with BI (Business Intelligence) tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Knowledge of cloud-based database platforms like AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL.
