About this roleOmniscient Digital is growing quickly, and we deeply believe in our commitment never to compromise content quality. Writing great content requires great writers. We’re seeking a stellar technical writer with expertise in advanced data governance topics. These may include metadata management, policy enforcement, data lineage, AI model governance, and cross-functional compliance challenges. We don’t work with writers who subcontract their work.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex concepts into digestible content for experienced data professionals.
• Create and refine technical information explaining client solutions (including infrastructure layer nuances).
• Adhere to client brand voice and messaging guidelines.
• Implement comprehensive technical documentation, feedback, and changes.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
• Stay current on evolving data regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
• Collaborate with fellow technical communicators to develop precise and engaging content.
• QA content for errors, suggest best practices, and optimize content generation projects.
• Manage complex information and multiple projects within content specifications and budget restrictions.
• Use previously selected fonts and typographic elements.

Qualifications and Skills

• 3+ years of experience in a data-related role (e.g., data scientist, analyst, compliance manager, data team leader).
• 2+ years of technical writing experience.
• Familiarity with enterprise data governance challenges and frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, FAIR principles, ISO 8000).
• Experience with print and digital media formats, word processors (Microsoft Word, Google Docs), and PDF software (Adobe Acrobat).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical and critical thinking.
• SEO experience to optimize content without sacrificing quality.
• Experience interviewing subject matter experts.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Positive attitude, open to new ideas, and passionate about crafting excellent content.
• Familiarity with data-related tools (data catalogs, observability platforms, AI/ML model registries).
• B2B/SaaS/marketing experience (preferred)
• Portfolio of published technical writing samples (3-5 recent, data-related preferred).
