Contractor Data Modeler

Job Summary

• Seeking an experienced Data Modeler with strong expertise in BI technologies, database design, and data modeling.
• Work closely with business and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop, and maintain data models that support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Requires 8-10 years of experience in data modeling and database development.
• Exposure to cloud platforms is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and technical SMEs to understand data consumption and reporting needs.
• Analyze source system data structures and map them to customer requirements and data elements.
• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical schemas for acquisition, integration, and analytical data layers.
• Design and implement data mappings between source system data elements and a common data model.
• Coordinate with ETL specialists to define data mappings, transformation rules, and conversion logic.
• Manage data model version control and ensure consistency across environments.
• Work closely with offshore teams of developers and testers to support deliverables.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability to meet business intelligence and reporting requirements.

Technical Skills

• BI Technologies: ETL, Reporting, Data Quality
• Databases: SQL / Oracle or Appliance DB
• Data Modeling Tools: Erwin or equivalent tools
• Good to Have: Experience designing and developing cloud-based solutions (Azure or AWS)

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in data modeling, database design, and business intelligence.
• Strong expertise in designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Oracle, or appliance databases.
• Strong knowledge of ETL, data quality, and reporting solutions.
• Familiarity with version control and data governance best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Cloud experience with Azure or AWS is a plus.
