Full-Time Data Platform Engineering Manager

About the Position: The Data Governance team ensures data security, privacy, and compliance in the analytics environment. This includes defining and implementing anonymization, access control, and governance processes. The team collaborates with various stakeholders to create a secure, scalable data environment.
Responsibilities:

• Act as a reference for data governance best practices.
• Define governance requirements aligned with security and compliance.
• Establish and enforce policies for data security, access control, anonymization, and retention.
• Enhance team productivity and data reliability through a structured approach to data governance.
• Build and grow a high-performing team through recruitment and development.

Requirements:

• Drives execution by organizing team workflows, setting governance goals, and ensuring security and compliance adherence.
• Expert in data governance concepts, frameworks, and technologies (access control, anonymization, metadata, compliance).
• Proficient in Python or equivalent, with experience implementing governance solutions.
• Strong understanding of the data lifecycle (lineage, governance, privacy, retention, anonymization, compliance).
• Excellent communication skills, and collaboration with various teams.
• Experience leading data governance initiatives impacting multiple business areas.
• Deep knowledge of cloud data governance in AWS and GCP.
• Understand infrastructure concepts (Kubernetes, CI/CD, security, observability)
• Fluency in English.
• (Preferred) Expert in implementing governance tools (OPA, Unity Catalog, DataHub, OpenMetadata).
• (Preferred) Strong experience with access control, identity management, encryption strategies.
• (Preferred) Strong experience with data cataloging and metadata management tools.
