Better Reports is seeking a data-savvy customer support agent to provide world-class support for our rapidly growing SaaS app.

Our mission is to provide the best tool for analyzing data from popular apps and APIs. Currently available on Shopify, Stripe, and QuickBooks, we're expanding to other platforms.
About the Role
Job Type: Full-time, Remote
This is a primarily customer support role with opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities
- Reading and replying to customer queries via helpdesk tool (HelpScout) and live chat for select customers.
- Assisting customers in creating and customizing reports, including formulas tailored to their needs.
- Helping merchants schedule and set up reports in Google Sheets.
- Investigating and explaining report results, including financial data (profit/loss, cash flow, transaction summaries).
- Addressing feature requests, pricing inquiries, and app usage questions.
- Creating videos to demonstrate app functionality to address specific customer questions.
- Occasionally: Write documentation on app features. Jump on phone/video calls with larger customers to educate and walk through features.
Required Skills
- Analytical Reading: Understand customer questions, not just what they say.
- Intelligible Writing: Clear, concise, and grammatically correct written English.
- Problem-Solving: Tackling new report requests and finding optimal solutions.
- Accounting & Financial Knowledge: Understanding profit/loss statements, balance sheets, etc. Experience with QuickBooks or supporting customers on similar platforms is a plus.
- Data and Numbers Enthusiast: Comfort and interest in working with data and financial reports. Basic understanding of Excel or SQL is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, Google Data Studio, etc.).
- E-commerce, accounting, or finance experience.
- Creating engaging screencasts for documentation/tutorials.
- QuickBooks or similar accounting platform familiarity.
- Working Remotely: Comfortable working remotely, with reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace.
- Proactive self-starter: Minimal supervision needed.
- Availability: During US working hours.
- Strong written communication for internal/external use.
