The DevSecOps Engineer is a front-line member of Authentic8's Security & Reliability Operations team, splitting time between two high-tempo arenas: the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) and the broader SRO engineering squad.
Your responsibilities include:
- IOC Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitoring dashboards, triaging and resolving incidents, leading first-line response.
- Security Operations: Vulnerability scanning, configuration hardening, security impact assessments for planned changes.
- Technical Operations: Executing patching, deployments, DNS and capacity changes, and routine maintenance.
- Code, Automation & Tooling: Writing infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring plugins, and remediation scripts.
- Project & Sprint Work: Delivering tasks, tuning tickets, participating in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- On-Call Rotation: Serving as primary/secondary on-call outside business hours, acknowledging alerts promptly, and driving resolutions.
- Documentation & Compliance Support: Creating and maintaining runbooks, SOPs, system documentation, and gathering evidence for audits.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years hands-on experience in DevSecOps, SRE, security engineering, or systems reliability roles
- Proficiency with Linux, GitLab, CI/CD, configuration management tools (Chef), and scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby)
- Working knowledge of monitoring/alerting stacks and incident platforms
- Familiarity with security frameworks and hardening standards (NIST 800-53/171, CIS benchmarks, FedRAMP)
- Clear, concise communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Cloud experience with GCP and/or AWS
- Certifications in relevant areas
- Prior participation in 24x7 operations centers or regulated SaaS environments
- Experience building dashboards for SLI/SLO monitoring
Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 + Bonus & Equity
