Full-Time Director of Engineering

Our Director of Engineering will set strategies delivering significant value to our customers and business, leading high-performing teams to execute against them.

You will lead and grow a dynamic engineering organization focused on maturing our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) product. You will have a pivotal role in driving innovation for Vanta’s customers and business, scaling high-performing teams, and shaping the technical future of our products.

1. Lead multiple teams to deliver results consistently and sustainably, holding a high bar for execution and quality.
2. Independently identify and realize strategies delivering significant value to customers and business.
3. Guide technical strategy, ensuring teams deliver long-term value aligned with Vanta’s business priorities.
4. Partner with Design, Product, and GTM counterparts to build best-in-class products.
5. Build a best-in-class engineering team.
6. Coach, mentor, and create an environment where your team can do their best work.
7. Influence and shape Vanta’s engineering culture and strategy.

To be successful:

• 7+ years of engineering leadership experience, working on complex products in a high-growth environment.
• Passion for leading, coaching, and building an inspired team.
• Business acumen, understanding how to drive step-change results through product innovation.
• Strong decision-maker, balancing ambiguity, data, speed, and quality.
• Effective communicator and storyteller, influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
• Operate at multiple levels, from vision and strategy to execution.
