Here, we all play an integral part in helping business owners, entrepreneurs, non-profits and individuals to succeed by giving them all the help and tools they need to grow online.

We’re energized by new challenges and new possibilities—and we’re just getting started!

As the Director of SEO, you will own the global search engine optimization strategy and execution for Constant Contact.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring deep technical SEO expertise, a strategic mindset, and the ability to drive significant growth in organic search traffic and conversions.

You will collaborate closely with Product, Site Experience, Content, and the rest of Marketing org to optimize our web properties, expand our reach, and ensure a seamless search experience for customers across key markets.

In this role, you’ll leverage current SEO trends and innovations in search engines and AI to position Constant Contact at the forefront of search visibility.

From generative AI in content creation to search engine advancements like semantic search and large language models, you’ll help Constant Contact harness these tools to connect with SMBs when and where they need us most.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global SEO strategy to increase organic traffic, user engagement, and conversions across the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to target SMBs in each region based on market trends, verticals, search behavior, and competitive analysis.
  • Keep up-to-date with search engine algorithm changes, industry trends, and competitor strategies.
  • Conduct regular technical SEO audits and ensure optimal website architecture, URL structure, indexation, crawlability, and performance.
  • Work with our Site Experience & Front-end Dev to implement SEO best practices, including structured data, site speed optimization, and mobile-first indexing.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in AI and search engine technology, including AI-driven ranking algorithms, chat-based search interfaces (e.g., ChatGPT, Bing, Google Gemini), and the growing importance of rich snippets and visual search.
  • Develop strategies to optimize for AI-powered search experiences, ensuring Constant Contact ranks for both traditional search queries and conversational AI-driven search prompts.
  • Monitor and analyze key SEO performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and others.
  • Create and present regular reports to leadership, highlighting performance, opportunities, and risks.
  • Leverage A/B testing and experiments to refine strategies and improve ranking performance.
  • Partner with Site Experience & Content teams to create and optimize high-quality, engaging, and keyword-targeted content.
  • Develop an SEO content strategy tailored to regional markets, including localization efforts and language considerations.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to team members and cross-functional partners.

Who you are:

  • 8+ years of experience in SEO, with a strong emphasis on technical SEO and international search strategies.
  • Be a subject matter expert in all core SEO areas including but not limited to: search engine algorithms, content, keyword research, site architecture, URL structure, sitemaps, canonical tags, dynamic/static pages, and On-Page Optimization (Metadata, Headings, Content, Anchor Links, Navigation, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, CMS platforms like WordPress or Contentful, and other website technology related to SEO.
  • Strong ability to interpret data, identify trends, and create actionable insights.
