Full-Time Ecological Risk Assessor

AECOM is seeking an experienced and motivated full-time Ecological Risk Assessor to join our team.

Location: Flexible - in-office or remote. Start date: 2025.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting projects for private and government clients (US & international).
• Performing and reviewing ecological risk assessments per regulations and project plans.
• Developing Risk Assessment Work Plans, and contributing to Sampling & Analysis Plans/Quality Assurance Project Plans.
• Coordinating with internal teams, delegating to junior staff.
• Preparing technical deliverables (reports, risk assessment calculations).
• Contributing to proposals and business development (scopes of work, cost estimates).
• Mentoring junior staff.
• Staying updated on federal & state regulations/guidance for risk assessments.
• Maintaining work quality, quantity & efficiency.
• Willingness to perform field work.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Ecotoxicology, Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology or related field.
• 6+ years experience in environmental consulting performing ecological risk assessments.
• US Citizenship required.
• Valid Driver's License & successful Motor Vehicle Records review & background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's or PhD in related field.
• Experience with USEPA ecological risk assessment guidance.
• Excellent technical writing & communication skills.
• Experience with food web/bioaccumulation assessments.
• Experience with data analysis & applied statistics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word.
• Experience evaluating PFAS, PCBs, and lead.
• CERCLA experience (Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and ROD development).
• Site investigation, field sampling & wildlife assessment experience.
• Experience working on Navy or Department of Defense projects.
• Experience with the Hawaii Department of Health and EPA Region 9.
• Experience with projects in Hawaii, Guam, and other Pacific Islands.
• Experience performing wildlife assessments.
