About the Role We are seeking a VSOC Analyst for an embedded role within a virtual 24/7 security operations center (VSOC). Using industry-leading technologies, you'll identify, analyze, and advise on potential threats impacting client safety, security, and operational continuity. These include, but are not limited to, political unrest, armed conflict, crime, terrorism, natural hazards, cyber threats, and online malign actors.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security incidents and trends using all-source intelligence (alert feeds, media, in-house sources).
- Assess impact on staff, assets, operations, events, and reputation.
- Support client trust and safety by monitoring and responding to platform issues.
- Escalate incidents to client stakeholders following established procedures.
- Track employee movements and proximity to incidents/events, providing advisories.
- Participate in training and drills for incident response.
- Provide ad hoc reporting on geopolitical developments, scenario planning, and forecasts to internal stakeholders.
- Deliver high-impact services as a member of a small team.
- Conduct research and analysis, creating insightful reports with data visualizations, meeting deadlines.
Requirements
- Fluent in Japanese (written and verbal, including social media terminology).
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Bachelor's degree in international relations, security studies, criminal justice, journalism, or related field.
- 1-3 years' experience in intelligence or customer-focused roles (geopolitical risk, corporate security, government, law enforcement).
- Data interpretation, organization, and visualization skills.
- Understanding of geopolitical/security threats to private sector operations, travelers, and sites.
- Strong research skills, rapidly digesting and evaluating large amounts of information.
- Creative problem-solving and insightful analysis of complex situations.
- Multitasking and working independently and collaboratively.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace.
- Australian work authorization.
