Contractor Financial Analyst

Job Mission

As a Financial Analyst focusing on forest carbon models, you will play a key role in evaluating and improving the financial feasibility of our forest restoration initiatives. Your primary role will be to support the Commercial Finance team in the building and formatting of various forest models. While prior knowledge of carbon markets or forest economics isn't required, your strong financial modeling skills and eagerness to learn will be essential. Your work will support the economic sustainability and environmental impact of our projects, helping us advance our mission to scale effective restoration efforts and drive meaningful climate solutions. 

Responsibilities

Support the finance team with model-making and formatting 

Help to standardize and format our forest models

Review reforestation project investment opportunities and evaluate commercial viability

Analyze financial data and report on key metrics, with a focus on providing valuable insights

Drive continual process improvements, and framework enhancements in support of generating meaningful data-driven insights

Ad-hoc analysis as required

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business finance or related field

Strong analytical and accounting skills; must understand key business drivers, ability to communicate financial implications/business impact and provide recommendations

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Good follow-through capabilities

Attention to detail

Willingness and ability to quickly master new tools and processes

Advanced spreadsheet skills and ability to work on Google suite (especially Google Sheets)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience modeling project finance

Experience developing financial reports and metrics

Advanced Google Slides or PowerPoint
