Are you a creative writer with a passion for mental health advocacy? Do you have a talent for crafting engaging content mixed with a knack for SEO principles? If so, we want you to join our team as a Freelance SEO / Blog Content Writer!
In this role, you'll be responsible for developing the editorial calendar, selecting key topics, and creating relevant content for our soon-to-launch “Wellness Zone” by crafting 2+ SEO-optimized blog articles each week.
We’re looking for someone with a love for storytelling and a genuine enthusiasm for writing content that is able to educate, inspire, and engage our audience on mental health-related topics.
As a valued member of our Creative Collective, you will collaborate with a diverse community of young artists from various disciplines—graphic designers, illustrators, photographers, and fellow content creators—who share a passion for making a positive impact in the mental health space.
Your creativity and skills will play a crucial role in bringing our message to life through compelling written content!
Responsibilities:
- Bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table and help shape engaging content that resonates with our audience.
- Create and/or collaborate on the editorial calendar as a strategic mix of keyword opportunities, seasonal themes, and mental health topics.
- Write and edit well-researched, original, and engaging blog content optimized both for our young audience (ages 13-30) as well as for search engines.
- Conduct keyword research and incorporate SEO best practices into all written content, both on blog and overarching website.
- Collaborate with the wider marketing and cross-functional teams to align blog topics with broader campaigns and company goals.
- Use SEO and AI tools to analyze content performance and consistently optimize for better results.
- Manage your own schedule and meet weekly deadlines, involving other team members or contributors as needed.
- Revise and update existing blog posts to improve search rankings and relevance.
- Stay updated on mental health industry/competitor trends, SEO techniques, and content strategies.
Requirements:
- Must-Haves
- Self-motivated, creative and reliable, with an authentic enthusiasm for strategic and engaging content writing
- Proven experience + success track as a content writer, copywriter, or similar role
- Strong understanding of SEO principles and how they apply to content creation
- Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills with a keen eye for detail
- Skilled at working independently and effectively collaborating in a remote team environment, all while delivering results and meeting deadlines
- A solid understanding of mental health topics and genuine passion for promoting mental well-being in the community
- Ability to create content in a variety of tones and styles suitable for different audiences, with a particular focus on younger readers
- Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SERanking, Yoast, Poe, or similar platforms
- A portfolio of previous and current relevant work
- Nice-to-Haves
- Skills Experience with copywriting across social platforms or other digital channels
- Basic knowledge of HTML and on-page SEO formatting
- Background and/or previous experience in mental health
