Your contribution to something big: Lead the development and implementation of the functional safety case for AI-based automotive features, ensuring compliance with ISO 21488 and ISO26262. Collaborate closely with AI engineers, software developers, system architects, and hardware teams to integrate functional safety requirements into the design and development of automotive systems.
Conduct comprehensive hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA) to identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with AI-driven automotive features.
Develop and maintain detailed safety plans, safety requirements, and safety validation and verification plans specific to automotive applications.
Perform safety analysis techniques such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) tailored to automotive systems.
Ensure traceability of safety requirements throughout the development lifecycle, from concept to production.
Provide training and guidance to the project team on automotive functional safety principles, best practices within ISO 21488.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in automotive functional safety and AI technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve safety processes and outcomes.
What distinguishes you:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on automotive applications.
- Certification in functional safety (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety Engineer) is a plus.
- Experience with model-based design and verification in the automotive domain.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in functional safety engineering within the automotive industry.
In-depth understanding of ISO 26262 and its application to automotive systems.
Experience with AI and machine learning technologies and their integration into automotive safety-critical systems.
Proficiency in automotive safety analysis techniques (FMEA, FTA, HAZOP).
Knowledge of automotive software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
Experience with safety-critical automotive hardware design and verification.
