As a member of the Healthcare Team, the Healthcare Data Analyst plays a key role in the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of healthcare data across NEC’s services, for delivery to a wide-range of healthcare related organizations.
The focus of the role is to work with customers, prospects, and other NEC staff to understand reporting requirements from this data, and to develop and test reports using reporting tools such as Business Objects and SQL Server, aligning with customer and market requirements.
The role also involves using market knowledge and customer intelligence to specify and develop reports that enhance the value of NEC’s propositions to its customers and the wider healthcare market.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
- Strong professional background and experience in the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data
- Strong technical skills in the development and execution of database queries (Microsoft SQL)
- Experience of working in a service-based environment
- Experience with industry-standard reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Business Objects)
- Ability to establish credibility with customers, partners, and colleagues
- Ability to establish credibility with wider stakeholder groups, including healthcare professionals and academics
- Experience analyzing large and/or complex data sets, and using advanced techniques and reporting/analysis packages
- Confident, self-motivated, adaptable, and results-oriented
- Creative, lateral thinker, able to synthesize information from multiple sources and apply conclusions to issues
- Ability to write clearly and concisely in various communication settings
- Ability to act with limited supervision
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
- Understanding of the information requirements of stakeholders within the healthcare market
- Experience with healthcare data
- Working knowledge of HES data and its application to the analysis of healthcare data
- Knowledge of R Statistical Computing
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools
- Experience writing analysis and interpretations for publication
