Information Security Data Engineer is responsible for implementing understandable security metrics and user-friendly online/offline reporting to support the Experian Cyber Security strategy. Reporting and data routines will adhere to industry security frameworks and standards. The role involves developing and delivering automation and engineering projects related to Security Metrics & Reporting cloud migration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within the metrics and reporting framework to identify, create, define, monitor, analyze, and evaluate security metrics with SMEs.
- Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to collect and evaluate metrics and trending data to assess security control effectiveness.
- Develop workflows to collect, store, and secure raw data from various security tools for reporting.
- Ensure business rules and policies to transform data and data quality/coverage issues are displayed in the agreed format.
- Document developed workflows and maintain existing documentation.
- Utilize reporting tools like PowerBI, AWS Glue, Tableau, and Power Automate.
- Document processes, development activities, and reporting for external audiences.
- Assess the validity of source data and subsequent findings.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Degree or pursuing degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or Data Analytics.
- 2+ years of professional experience (internships considered).
- Experience in data modeling and assessing data set quality.
- Understanding of information security controls, general IT processes, and process analysis.
- Experience with report analytics and queries (e.g., SQL, Python).
- Experience using data analysis/transformation tools (Alteryx, Power Automate, Excel, MS Forms).
- Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with cloud data management and AWS tools (AWS Glue, Lambda Function).
- Experience building reports and performing data analytics on varied data sets.
- Ability to understand user reporting requirements and deliver reports highlighting issues requiring resolution.
