Job Purpose: A critical position in the global training department’s ability to deliver high quality Training Material, Online Learning and Marketing information. This role will be critical in ensuring alignment of terminology and standards across the department. This role supports the Training & Development Consultancy pillar.
Job Purpose (cont.): This role involves delivering quality assurance activity to ensure highly accurate training material and online learning solutions are delivered to customers. An exceptionally high standard of English is required.
Job Purpose (cont.): The role also supports administration tasks such as creating Purchase Orders, writing marketing copy, and other daily department operations to ensure smooth operation.
Quality Assurance Duties:
- Review and edit TNA reports, training material, storyboards, and eLearning content for accuracy and consistency.
- Conduct linguistic and terminological reviews of editorial content.
- Set up and manage the Smiths Detection terminology and abbreviation database.
- Maintain the online learning style guide and training material templates.
- Publish completed content and archive old versions.
- Support terminological quality assurance and maintain the terminology guide.
- Review and QA eLearning material, following the style guide and focusing on spelling, grammar, learner experience, and functionality.
- Ensure adherence to the Smiths Detection Online Training Naming Convention.
- Manage configuration controls for Training & Development outputs.
Administration Duties:
- Effectively store completed documents, including monitoring of online team's Teams channel.
- Ensure technical references are up to date.
- Create and maintain an online learning database.
- Update the Global Training Catalogue.
- Create online learning products data sheets.
- Create, own, and manage Training Department templates, ensuring they are saved centrally and reviewed routinely.
- Process translation requests, obtain cost estimates, create orders, raise Purchase Orders, and complete initial reviews of translations.
- Manage and update the Online Team's SharePoint site, including sales enablement material updates.
- Manage the centralised image, video, and asset repository.
- Attend, minute, and contribute to business meetings.
- Conduct other tasks as identified by Line Manager.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- English degree (desired) or exceptionally high English standards (essential)
- Copywriting, marketing, or quality assurance/administration certifications considered
- Quality Assurance skills with attention to detail
- Copywriting knowledge
- Second language desirable, but not essential
- Strong organization skills to manage multiple tasks
- Experience/knowledge of global organizations
- Expert-level Microsoft Word skills
- Quality assurance methodologies, tools, and process knowledge
- JSP101 knowledge desirable
