The Investigations Lead will be a critical team member responsible for collaborating with HR and Legal to oversee and execute complex investigations into cybersecurity incidents, insider threats, and violations of security policy.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate investigative efforts across cybersecurity, physical security, HR, legal, and compliance teams.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for critical or high-risk investigative cases.
- Promote collaboration, diversity, and inclusion.
- Conduct forensic analysis of logs, endpoints, network activity, and digital evidence.
- Deliver thorough investigative reports.
- Brief executive leadership on high-impact cases and trends.
- Maintain awareness of emerging threats.
- Work with the Security Operations Center (SOC) and threat intelligence teams.
- Establish and maintain investigative standards and documentation practices.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements.
Basic Requirements:
- 5+ years in Cyber Defense with experience in cybersecurity investigations, digital forensics, corporate security, or detection engineering.
- Experience supporting incident response or detection engineering.
- Ability to lead complex investigations.
- Strong technical expertise in log analysis, endpoint forensics, SIEM/EDR platforms, and evidence preservation techniques.
- Understanding of insider threat indicators and cybercrime tactics.
- Ability to manage sensitive cases and communicate clearly.
- Ability to be on call during nontraditional working hours.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field or equivalent.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in large complex environments.
- Experience in cyber defense or information security in media and technology industries.
- Experience with network tools and technologies.
- Experience conducting malware analysis.
- Experience in applying security concepts to Cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Relevant certifications (GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, GNFA, etc.).
- Master’s Degree in an IT related field.
