Full-Time IT Architect (AWS GovCloud)

Arthur Grand Technologies is seeking an experienced IT Architect for a remote client project. The position involves modernizing an existing system to incorporate containers, cloud solutions (specifically AWS GovCloud), and DevSecOps practices.

Statement of Work:

• Electronic filing platform supporting SOA-based web services for return submissions.
• Web applications for CLIENT users to manage returns.
• Return validation, disposition determination, and interface with downstream CLIENT systems.

Task Description:

• Provide architecture direction and support for system modernization.
• Collaborate with team and CLIENT stakeholders to define the transition to containers, cloud, and target environments.
• Develop and maintain architecture artifacts adhering to CLIENT templates.
• Recommend DevSecOps improvements.

Primary Duties:

• Develop and extend architecture (35%):
• Develop architecture artifacts and present them to the team and CLIENT stakeholders.
• Provide recommendations/architectural options for migration to microservices, containers, and cloud (35%).
• Maintain or create contractual deliverables based on CLIENT templates (10%).
• Identify opportunities for new business with the CLIENT (10%).
• Provide LoE estimates for impact assessments and VROMs (5%).
• Recommend implementing DevSecOps practices (5%).

Required Skills/Experience:

• 10+ years experience in developing architectures for large, complex programs.
• 10+ years strong oral and written customer communication skills.
• 5+ years experience leading teams of architects and/or developers.
• 4+ years experience modernizing complex enterprise applications for cloud (including Java applications).
• 4+ years experience modernizing complex applications using microservices running in containers.
• 4+ years experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and AWS GovCloud solutions.
• 4+ years experience developing solutions using Event Driven Architecture.
• 4+ years experience with information security for large, highly sensitive Java applications.
• 4+ years maintaining requirements and traceability for complex applications.
• 4+ years experience with the Linux platform.
• 4+ years experience with CM tools (e.g., IBM EWM, Git SCM).
• 3+ years experience with middleware products (e.g., JBoss EAP, WebSphere Application Server, AMQ, Kafka, IBM MQ).
• 2+ years experience developing DevSecOps solutions.
