Full-Time Junior Automation Engineer

Join Balsam International as a Junior Automation Engineer and immerse yourself further in the world of software quality assurance and testing. You'll be assisting in the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications.

What you’ll be doing:

• Automation Design & Development: Designs, develops, and maintains automated test scripts using standard automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Typescript, etc.)
• Integration & Execution: Collaborates with senior engineers to integrate software solutions into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
• Quality Collaboration & Defect Resolution: Investigates and debugs test failures, providing detailed reports and collaborating with the development team to resolve issues promptly. • Works with the Test Architect to design and implement the Automation framework.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and manual test engineers.
• Participates in agile ceremonies and provide feedback.
• Executes end-to-end test scenarios manually as needed.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in QA automation or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of Java and JavaScript
• Willingness to learn and work with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Jmeter,JUnit, TestNG)
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication and collaboration skills
• Must be flexible to support US hours meetings
• Accustomed to Agile Development

Nice to have:

• eCommerce retail experience is a plus
• Experience in performance testing and security testing is a plus

The Junior Automation Engineer position is a remote working position for Balsam International Unlimited Company - Philippine ROHQ in Manila.

Our must-haves:

• Must attend occasional in-person meetings.
• Must have a fast, reliable DSL, Fiber, or Broadband connection with a minimum actual speed of 50MBPS.
