We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone. We’re waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking. Monzo is seeking a Lead Brand Designer for a 15-month contract role.
Role Overview:
Shape Monzo's visual identity, deliver high-quality design solutions, and drive innovative ideas. Collaborate with designers, writers, product designers, marketing teams, and external agencies to evolve the Monzo brand. Manage 3 brand designers and provide mentorship and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee projects from ideation to execution.
- Develop, evolve, and maintain brand identities.
- Contribute directly to design work (e.g., campaigns, typography, animations).
- Utilize typography expertise for visually appealing and readable designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for cohesive design solutions.
- Creatively concept art direction and motion for in-app experiences.
- Guide external agency partners.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven track record in design roles with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and Figma.
- Motion skills or 3D programs are a plus.
- Strong understanding of design principles, color theory, and typography.
- Experience leading design projects and mentoring junior designers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience in fast-paced tech startups or creative agencies.
