The Role
As a Manual QA Engineer at SuperDuper, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering teams by ensuring high-quality software delivery across our engineering squads. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify issues early in the process and ensure that our products meet the highest standards. Your attention to detail and methodical approach will be key to ensuring our teams continue to move forward and deliver at pace. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, working across multiple products to ensure quality at every stage of development.
In the first 6 months you will
- Collaborate with two engineering squads to understand product requirements and ensure testing coverage
- Perform manual testing to identify and document defects, focusing on usability, functionality, and performance
- Develop and execute test cases and test plans in collaboration with the engineering team
- Work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution of issues and support continuous improvement in quality
- Help drive the QA process, ensuring that quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle
- Contribute to release processes, ensuring that only high-quality, thoroughly tested software is delivered
- Ensure rapid delivery of high-quality solutions while maintaining meticulous attention to detail
Must haves
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in manual QA testing for web or mobile applications
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA processes
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and test plans
- Ability to track and document defects accurately using issue-tracking tools like Jira
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous and methodical approach to testing
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a cross-functional team
- Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and how QA integrates into Agile processes
- Passion for delivering high-quality software and a strong eye for detail
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Desire to learn and grow within the QA field, staying up-to-date with industry best practices
Nice to have
- Experience with basic automation tools or interest in learning automation testing
- Familiarity with API testing using tools like Postman or similar
- Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Exposure to performance testing or security testing tools
