Job Details

As a valued leader, manage a team evaluating operations and compliance for mortgage finance business. Responsibilities include:

  1. Direct teams in identifying and reporting model risks stemming from business activities, internal processes, changes in the financial services industry, regulatory compliance, or external factors.
  2. Work with stakeholders to understand workflow processes for model validation, performance monitoring, and issue management; generate recommendations.
  3. Ensure effective identification, measurement, monitoring, reporting, mitigation, and control of business risks.
  4. Produce qualitative and quantitative analyses for project management and executive reports, providing a strategic view of model risk. Design, implement, and maintain process, control, metric framework, and dashboards supporting portfolio and business process assessments.
  5. Collaborate on technology solutions for accurate data capture, compilation, processing, and interpretation for regular and ad-hoc reporting to stakeholders, executives, and regulators. Provide innovative, thorough, and practical solutions supporting business strategies and initiatives.
  6. Apply relevant business context to interpret results, monitor performance, and assess risks, including mathematical, statistical, and econometric techniques.
  7. Oversee ad-hoc quantitative analyses, modeling, or programming using tools like Tableau, SAS, SQL, R, or Python.
  8. Build, develop, and motivate a high-performing team; foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in model validation or development
  • Expertise in quantitative analytics for credit, interest rate, counterparty credit risk, or fixed income valuation
  • Expertise in developing and testing hypotheses, using experimental design, and applied statistical methods
  • Skilled in graphical representation of information (charts, diagrams, dashboards with Excel, Tableau, or Power BI)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; experienced in presenting information engagingly
  • Skilled in creating visual concepts, content creation, and editing
  • Adept at engaging with leadership and stakeholders to drive consensus and action
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience working with diverse teams toward common goals
  • Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people for successful project completion
  • Adept at analyzing data to identify trends

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred
  • Experience in Governance and Compliance, Risk Assessment and Management
  • Experience with reporting platforms (Tableau, Excel, Power BI)
  • Proficiency in programming languages (SAS, SQL, R, or Python)
  • Experience related to Learning and Training
