Part-Time MSN NP - Faculty

Walden Faculty members educate students using online technology and resources. Faculty grade assignments, participate in discussions, respond to student emails, and use technology to enhance learning.

TRAINING
New faculty receive training in online teaching, electronic learning platforms, policies, procedures, degree programs, academic integrity assessment, and research supervision.

COURSE/TEACHING AVAILABILITY
Faculty members are assigned courses using Canvas and are responsible for interacting with students. They are expected to be in the classroom a minimum of 4 days/week, responding to questions within 48 hours.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
Faculty must be appropriately credentialed, work as an NP, and possess an earned degree from an accredited institution. They must maintain licenses and certifications. All NP Faculty are required to obtain RN and APRN licensure in Minnesota and provide evidence of current Advanced Practice certification.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Earned Doctorate
• Record of professional scholarly contributions
• Minimum of one year teaching in higher education
• Current clinical experience in NP practice
• Teaching experience, online preferred
• Commitment to student learning in a distance environment
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS
Faculty need a personal computer with virus protection and Internet access. Software includes a current Web browser, Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash Player, Apple QuickTime, Windows Media Player, and antivirus software.
