We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Network Configuration Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for remotely configuring, testing, and securing customer-premises equipment (CPE) across a wide range of technologies and platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remote Configuration & Deployment: Configure and validate routers, switches, SD-WAN devices, firewalls, and media converters (Cisco, Juniper, Adtran, VeloCloud, Mushroom, etc.) for customer deployments.
- Template Management & Automation: Maintain and enhance configuration templates for various ISP/MSP service types. Collaborate with software developers to automate provisioning and reduce manual effort.
- Pre-Deployment Testing: Conduct functional and security testing of customer equipment to ensure readiness prior to shipment.
- Inventory & System Integration: Load configuration data and metadata into inventory, provisioning, and order management systems.
- Troubleshooting & RCA: Perform root cause analysis on failed or returned equipment and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Security & Compliance: Apply and maintain security policies to safeguard customer and internal networks from unauthorized access or abuse.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Coordinate with technical support, service delivery, NOC, and engineering teams to ensure visibility into configuration changes and deployment status.
- Process Improvement: Identify and automate repetitive tasks to focus on complex configurations and enhance the overall customer experience.
Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Fortinet devices.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting ISP/MSP customer equipment, including protocols such as BGP, MPLS, ACLs, static routing, PRI, and FXS.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and network topologies.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, cloud-managed networking, and electronic provisioning systems.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible) is a plus.
- Certifications: Junior to intermediate certifications in Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS), or Adtran (ACA/ACNP) preferred.
